MEET HON KAYODE SOWADE, NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ( ENGINEERING SERVICES), OGUN-OSUN RIVER BASIN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

President Bola Tinubu on Friday, March 28, 2025, appointed Osun-born Oluwakayode Adebayo Sowade as Executive Director ( Engineering Services) at Ogun- Osun River Basin Development Authority.

Hon. Sowade boasts an impressive resume, with over 20 years of experience in logistics, technology support, operations, production, and supply chain management. He has worked with multinational giants like Danone (FanMilk), GlaxoSmithKline, Reckitt Benkister, and Procter & Gamble.

He was Supply Chain Director (Nigeria) at Danone (FanMilk) where he supervised all factory logistics, technical workshops (mechanical and electrical) and spare part storage as well as managed the sales assets operation with over 32 million pounds worth of assets and the overall OPEX of about 4.5 million pounds.

Also, for three years between 2015- 2017 at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), where he served as Supply Chain Director ( West Africa), Sowade directed the supply chain operation of the company for Nigeria, Ghana and Gambia territory.

He was equally a Supply Chain Manager (2012-2015) at a British multinational consumer goods company, Reckitt Benkister, where he spearheaded the installation of 3000 pallet racket in the warehouse to increase storage space for finished goods.

At Procter & Gamble (2007-2012), Sowade contributed greatly to the site integrated management and physical distribution operation of the company in Nigeria as well as supervising and leading 11,000+ packet spots, warehouse management, 9 docks for scheduling shipment and receipt operations.

Sowade has attended various trainings, seminars and workshops around the world, including a Quality Assurance training in Cairo, Egypt, a training at Advanced Integrated Supply Chain School in Geneva, Switzerland and at P&G School in Brussels, Belgium.

A native of Modakeke in Osun State, Hon. Sowode holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from Ladoke Akintola University and an MBA from Lagos Business School.He served on the Governing Board of the UniOsun Teaching Hospital , Osogbo from 2021 to 2022.

He is an associate of ex-Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola and also an Initiator and Sponsor of Oyetola Hands of Fellowship, an initiative he has in the last two years deplored to empower and assist no fewer than 5,000 citizens in his hometown of Modakeke.

Sowade a key mobilizer and strategist during the 2023 Presidential Election, played an instrumental role in galvanizing support and driving grassroots engagement across the country as the Technical Director of Team Beta Naija .
