Osun 2026: Ede South APC Stakeholders Throw Weight Behind AMBO, Pledge To Oust Adeleke

as AMBO Grassrootters mobilize support for AMBO in Ede land

In a significant development ahead of the Osun governorship elections in 2026, leaders, stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ede South Local Government have stated their resolve to oust the incumbent governor of Osun, Ademola Adeleke in the 2026 governorship elections, just as they pledge their support for the candidacy of the MD/CEO National Inland Waterways Authority, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.

The stakeholders stated their resolve while receiving the AMBO Grassrootters, a leading support group comprising past and present (reinstated) local government Chairmen from 2017 till date, who were in the local government to mobilize support for the candidacy of Oyebamiji. At the gathering, the stakeholders threw their weight behind AMBO, extolling his leadership qualities, vision, and commitment to public service. The endorsement comes as the APC gears up for its primary election which will produce its candidate for the 2026 polls.

The group through it’s Director General, Hon. Oloyede Adekunle, Chairman, Irepodun South LCDA described Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as a charismatic and competent aspirant who is well rooted in the progressive politics just as he understands the dynamism of Osun politics and the yearnings of it’s citizenry.

“We are convinced that AMBO possesses the leadership acumen and innovative ideas to drive Osun State forward, he is a deep rooted grassroot politician, selfless public servant who has distinguished himself as a two term commissioner for finance and presently as MD/CEO NIWA. AMBO’s vision for Osun aligns with the renewed hope agenda of the presidency, it is therefore trite to ensure that the state is reclaimed for APC so that the state can be a major beneficiary of the federal government’s developmental plans”, Oloyede stated.

Hon. Imran Adekoyejo who represented the APC Ede South Leaders Council Chairman, Elder Johnson Ojo tasked lauded the team for sticking to issue based campaigns just as he charged party faithfuls to shun campaign of calumny, insults and divisive propaganda. He stated that the party is poised to win the 2026 governorship elections therefore there is the need to do away from anything that would spoil the chances of the party

“We are glad that the AMBO Movement have so far been based on issue based campaigns, this is what is good for the party. We are one big family and the party belongs to us all, we need to shun campaign of calumny, statements capable of tearing the party apart should not be encouraged, our party will emerge victorious in the 2026, the signs are there already all we need for now is the stay united”.

The stakeholders’ declaration underscores the growing popularity and acceptance of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji’s candidacy and highlights the APC’s determination to unseat Adeleke and the PDP administration in Osun.

Notable dignitaries and leaders of the APC at the gathering include: Elder Deji Agboola, Hon. Hakeem Tokede, Engr. Moruf Ogundipe, Hon. Adekunle Oloyede, Chief Mrs. Olusola Ogunfolaju, Hon. Felicia Omolaoye, Hon. Benson Adekunle, Hon. Ghazal Mohammed, Hon. Olayanju Kolapo and several others.
