Obokun Local Government Staffs End 8-Month Strike, Chairman Promises Cooperation, Assures Workers Of Adequate Security

The Chairman of Obokun Local Government, Engr. Maroof Kayode Ogundipe has given assurances of security to workers of the local government who resumed to work earlier today after 8-months of strike.

Addressing the local government workers in a meeting at the council Secretariat, Ogundipe thanked the workers for allowing reasoning to prevail over sentiments just as he assured them of adequate security of lives and properties within and outside the council premises.

“I want to thank you all for the patriotism that you have displayed today, we are one joined by our quest to serve the people of Obokun and provide good governance that would have a lasting impact on the lives of our people. I want to assure you that we would ensure adequate security within and outside the council premises, we will collaborate with security agencies to ensure that our council remains safe for you and everyone that would be coming in here”.

“I want to urge you to roll up your sleeves and let’s work together for the greater goal of our people, there will be no witch-hunting, victimization, intimidation or harassment of any form, we are partners in progress, kindly inform your colleagues to resume as we have a lot of ground to cover”.

The workers in their reaction unanimously thanked the council chairman for the warm reception with an assurance of giving their best to ensure that the council boss and his councillors deliver on their given mandate.

Engr. Ogundipe was joined by Hon. Owoeye Samuel Abiodun, Councillors and executive members of the local government in receiving the returning council workers.
