Ex-Procurement Boss, Bello Adegboyega Basheer (BABS), Hails Oyebamiji at 60

Bello Adegboyega Basheer, the immediate past Mlanaging Director of the Osun Public Procurement Agency and one of the respected stakeholders in Ifelodun, Boripe, and Odo-Otin Federal Constituency, has joined family, associates, and admirers across the state to celebrate the 60th birthday of an exceptional leader, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

In his message, BABS described AMBO as “a model of private-sector excellence and public-sector credibility,” noting that his distinguished banking career and decades of corporate exposure prepared him for the transformative leadership he brought into government.

Reflecting on the years he worked closely with AMBO during his time as Commissioner for Finance, BABS explained that although the Procurement Agency was independent of the ministry, their collaboration on financial reforms, procurement discipline, and institutional strengthening provided him the rare privilege of observing AMBO’s leadership ethos at close range. “Working with AMBO was a masterclass in integrity and strategic thinking,” he said. “He insisted on due process, encouraged innovation, respected the boundaries of institutions, and always pushed for the highest standard of transparency. Those interactions shaped my approach to governance and strengthened my commitment to public service.”

BABS highlighted AMBO’s rich private-sector background, particularly his rise through the banking industry where he earned a reputation for professionalism, managerial competence, and ethical leadership. He noted that Oyebamiji carried these values into government, leading financial reforms, stabilizing Osun’s fiscal system, expanding revenue frameworks, and restoring confidence in public institutions.

He further described Oyebamiji as a leader whose humility amplifies his influence.“He leads with clarity, listens with patience, and decides with uncommon courage. AMBO’s leadership is not loud, yet it is deeply felt. He is a builder by instinct, a reformer by passion, and a performer by record,” BABS stated.

As Oyebamiji marks his 60th year, Basheer prayed for renewed strength, wisdom, and divine guidance for the man he described as “a dependable brother and a visionary democrat whose best years of service still lie ahead.” He expressed firm belief that Osun stands on the verge of a new progressive chapter under his guidance and commitment.
