BABS Condoles Muslim Community in Ikirun, Family and Friends of Late Grand Chief Imam of Ikirunland

The immediate past Managing Director of the Osun Public Procurement Agency, Alhaji Bello Adegboyega Basheer (BABS), has condoled with the Muslim community in Ikirun, the family, and friends of Alhaji Sheikh Imam Yunus Ibraheem Balogun, the Grand Chief Imam of Ikirunland, who passed away yesterday.

BABS described the death of the revered Islamic scholar as a painful personal loss, noting that beyond being a religious leader, the late Grand Chief Imam was a father, mentor, and moral guide to him.

He revealed that his relationship with the late cleric dated back 13 years, a period he said was defined by consistent guidance, sincere prayers, and unwavering support.

According to BABS, since the debut of our Ramadan Programme 13 years ago, the late Imam stood firmly behind the initiative, believing in its vision from the onset and continuously offering prayers, counsel, and encouragement that sustained the programme over the years.

“He was not only a revered Islamic scholar; he was a father to me. His doors were always open, his advice was always timely, and his support was always sincere,” BABS said.

He added that the late cleric consistently emphasized the fear of Allah, service to humanity, and steadfastness in truth, noting that in moments of uncertainty, his words brought clarity, and in moments of weakness, his prayers brought strength.

The late Alhaji Sheikh Imam Yunus Ibraheem Balogun was widely regarded as a pillar of faith in Ikirunland, known for his dedication to Islamic propagation, peacebuilding, and mentorship of younger generations.

BABS prayed that Almighty Allah forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, accept his good deeds, and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus, while also praying that Allah comfort his family, the Muslim Ummah, and the entire Ikirun community.

The death of the Grand Chief Imam marks the end of an era in Ikirunland, but his legacy of faith, service, and moral uprightness will continue to resonate across the community.
