The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Protocol, Ambassador Issah Adedotun Niniola brought renewed hope to residents of Alaare and Abidogun in Olorunda Local Government of Osun State as he commenced the grading of their long-neglected road, drawing crowds of appreciative community members.
From early morning, residents trooped out in excitement to witness the rehabilitation of the deplorable road linking Alaare, Abidogun, Ota-Efun and Kobo in Osogbo. For years, the stretch had posed serious hardship to commuters, traders, students and vehicle owners, with constant breakdowns becoming a routine experience.
The intervention followed an inspection visit by Ambassador Niniola in December 2025 after community leaders paid him a courtesy call to express their concerns. During that visit, he assured them that steps would be taken to rehabilitate the road, a promise now fulfilled.
The Baale of Alaare Iyiolu, Omooba Muhibi Folorunsho, commended the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Protocol for remembering the community at a critical time.
“I was particularly happy when I received the news that grading had commenced. Life has been extremely difficult for our people because this road was hardly accessible. We have spent so much repairing our vehicles due to its terrible condition. With this effort, I am confident things will change for good,” he said.
The Baale also dismissed rumours suggesting that the project was undertaken by the state government. According to him, Ambassador Niniola personally made the commitment and has now delivered on it.
“When I heard the misinformation at a palace meeting, I had to correct it immediately. Ambassador Niniola promised us and he has fulfilled that promise. We pray that God grants him and AMBO success in all their aspirations,” he added.
A resident of Abidogun, Mr. Olusola Oluwaseyi, described the road as one of the community’s greatest challenges.
“The road was too bad for vehicles to ply comfortably. It became a major concern for everyone. Seeing the grading work ongoing today brings us great joy,” he said.
Residents offered prayers for Ambassador Niniola’s continued success and expressed optimism about the progress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
For the people of Alaare and Abidogun, the grading project is more than just road work, it represents responsiveness, fulfilment of promises and a renewed sense of inclusion in the development process.
