Osun 2026: Grassroots Structure Will Deliver Victory for AMBO, Says Niniola

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Protocol and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Ambassador Issah Adedotun Niniola, has described grassroots political structures as the most critical factor in winning elections, declaring that the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), is well-positioned for victory in the August 15 governorship election.

Niniola made the remarks during an engagement with members of the OPPF, which he described as the foremost and foundational support group of the AMBO movement. He commended the group for its commitment, resilience, and unwavering dedication to advancing the candidature of Oyebamiji across the state.

According to him, elections are won through strong ward and polling unit structures rather than just social media campaigns and political rhetoric. He noted that OPPF has continued to demonstrate its strength as a grassroots-based organization capable of mobilizing support and delivering electoral success for the APC.

The APC stalwart also expressed confidence that the opposition would fail in any attempt to manipulate the electoral process, assuring party supporters that measures were being put in place to prevent a repeat of any irregularities associated with previous elections. He further dismissed claims suggesting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was not supporting the APC candidate, describing such reports as misinformation. Niniola maintained that President Tinubu remains firmly behind the aspiration of Oyebamiji and the party’s quest to reclaim Osun State.

He also assured members that all necessary resources required for a successful campaign and electioneering process would be made available, urging party faithful to remain united and focused on the task ahead.

The meeting also featured a goodwill moment as members of OPPF presented a birthday cake to Niniola in celebration of his birthday. Speaking on behalf of the group, its Chairman, Mr. Wasiu Abiona, briefed the APC leader on several programmes being planned ahead of the election, including extensive door-to-door mobilisation campaigns and voter education initiatives aimed at helping residents understand the ballot process and vote correctly on election day.
