The Ansar-UD-Deen Society, Abuja Branch, Sunday held a special prayer session in honour of its late Grand Patron, Professor Jubril Aminu, at the society’s central mosque in Abuja.
The solemn event was attended by family members, friends, religious leaders, and members of the Muslim community who gathered to pay tribute to the revered elder statesman and Muslim Community leader.
Among the delegation to the Ansar-ud-Deen Mosque for the prayer session are: Murtala Jibril Aminu, Abubakar Jibril Aminu, Imran Aminu, Bashir Jibril Aminu, Alhaji Mahmud Mohammed, Senator Faruk Bunza, Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong and the late Aminu’s first born, Dr. Kingi Aminu.
Others are: the late Aminu’s wife, Hajia Fatima Jibril Aminu, Hajia Nana Asmau Jibril Aminu, Hajia Mariamu Jibril Aminu and Hajia Zainab Raheemat Mijinyawa among several others.
The Society had last Friday, visted the family and presented a letter of condolence to them.
In a heartfelt condolence message addressed to the widow, Hajia Fatima Jubril Aminu, the Branch Secretary of the society, Ismail Omipidan, described the late Professor Aminu as a devout Muslim and a patriot whose life was dedicated to the service of Allah and humanity.
“The loss of a loving husband and father always brings unimaginable pain to the family and creates a huge gap difficult to fill,” Omipidan wrote. “But I am sure that as a Muslim, you will find solace in the fact that Allah gives and He takes life.”
Omipidan praised Professor Aminu’s enduring legacy, noting his exemplary roles as a foremost educationist, ambassador, lawmaker, and community leader.
“The worth of a man’s life is measured by the quality and quantum of diverse contributions he made to humanity. Your husband lived for Allah and humanity, leaving behind an indelible signature of accomplishments,” he added.
The society acknowledged that his death was not only a loss to his immediate family and the people of Adamawa State but also to the wider Muslim Ummah across Nigeria.
Prayers were offered for the repose of his soul, seeking Allah’s forgiveness and eternal peace for the late professor.
At the Sunday’s special prayer session, the Chief Imam of Ansar-ud-Deen Society, Abuja Branch, Imam Musa Olaofe, admonished Muslims to live a life that is worthy of emulation. He noted that the late educationist started and ended well.
On his part, Chairman of the Ansar-ud-Deen Society, Abuja Branch, Alhaji Mohammed Kabir Olayiwola, urged the children to continue from where their father stopped, appealing to them to see Ansar-ud-Deen as their home and follow in their footsteps of the late Aminu, with a view to sustaining his legacies within and outside Ansar-ud-Deen Society.
Professor Jubril Aminu was a distinguished figure in Nigeria’s public life, widely respected for his service in education, diplomacy, and national development. His death marks the end of a remarkable era of leadership and spiritual commitment.
