Osun State pensioners, under the auspices of Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) , has described as untrue the claim by the Osun State Government that it has cleared all backlog of half salaries and pension arrears owed workers, saying that government is still in arrears from 2017 to 2025.
Similarly, the pensioners claimed that some of them are still being owed half salary arrears for 16 months, saying that “there’s the need to be factual in governance so that members of the public will not be misled and misinformed, at the same time.”
In a communique, issued on Thursday, and signed by the chairman and secretary of the group respectively, Comrade Moses .O. Fayemi and Comrade Mrs. Sule A. B.,the group said “Our CPS members are still on September, 2017, spreading to this December, 2025. Our Secondary Schools are presently on July, 2020, spreading to 2025.
“Twenty Eight (28) half salary arrears had been cleared for the Unbonded, full of complaints and shortcomings, while the Bonded are yet to receive up to Sixteen (16) months half salary arrears, visible records are available.
“To this effect, we shall continue to comb all legal avenues, to implore Osun State Govt. to please prioritise our meaningful existence by releasing huge funds to clear our BONDS, 2017- 2025.”
It will be recalled that in the build-up to the 2022 governorship election, Governor Ademola Adeleke had promised to clear the backlog of half salaries arrears and pension arrears within six months of his assumption of office. That singular promise, made the pensioners support him en mass in that election. But three years down the line, that promise, the pensioners insist, has yet to be fulfilled.

(2) We are hereby informing the Whole World, starting from Osun State,that,we shall now be Championing our own Plights,to fast-track the payments of BONDS,2017-2025, by Osun State Govt…
(3) We also want to make it clear to the General Public that,contrary to the false claims of Osun State Commissioner for Information,Barrister Kolapo Alimi, on Gbagede Oro,a Yoruba Socio- political program,anchored by Alhaji Akinkunmi Alabi, on Fresh FM, Wednesday,10-12-2025, that,Osun State Govt,had cleared all our Outstanding BONDS,2017-2025, and half salary arrears,Osun State Govt only made some partial payments, more three Years in Service…
